Our Dentists
Leo Panzic (BDS Otago)
I graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Otago University in 1983. Following a year at Wellington Hospital I furthered my training in England for two years working in Guildford, Surrey. I offer a full range of dental services. My interest in dentistry is treatment planning, minimally invasive procedures and preventive care. I have been working in Orewa since 1988 and am married with three daughters.
Marcus Wallace (BDS Otago)
I trained at the School of Dentistry at Otago University. Upon graduating I worked in Hamilton for two years before heading to Australia to gain hospital experience. I then spent six years in England working in a private practice with a strong focus on cosmetic dentistry. One of the highlights of my career is my involvement in Orewa Dental Centre, and our move to the new state of the art clinic. It is extremely satisfying to be able to offer the public the skills I have acquired in all forms of dentistry in these modern surroundings.
Jane Wallace (BDS Otago)
I trained at the Otago Dental School completing my studies in 1997. It was in Dunedin where I met my husband Marcus. From 1999 – 2006 I was in England where I worked in a long established, private practice which provided a broad spectrum of general dentistry. In 1997 I returned home to New Zealand where I began working in the Hibiscus Coast area and then central Auckland. Since having my three children I have continued to work 2 – 3 days per week. My aim is to develop friendly relationships with my patients through a relaxed, caring manner and good communication. I enjoy all aspects of dentistry, and strive to involve my patients in their treatment planning and to meet their needs. I am extremely happy to have recently joined the Orewa Dental Centre team.
Practice Manager
Wendy Walker
I have been the practice manager since 2005 and hold an NZDA certificate in dental assisting. I have considerable knowledge of the dental industry and can assist with most inquiries. I’ll refer more complex issues to Leo, Jane or Marcus and insure a prompt response.
Dental Assistants
Julia
I have worked at Orewa Dental Centre since 2005 and hold a certificate in dental assisting from the New Zealand Dental Association. As well as being an experienced assistant, I am our Clinical Services Manager and have extensive knowledge in infection control procedures. I also provide a supporting role in reception.
Olivia
I work as a part time dental assistant while studying for my Bachelor of Communication at Massey University. I have been part of the team for 5 years and thoroughly enjoy my time working alongside all three dentists.
Myka
I have worked for Orewa Dental Centre in varying capacities since 1999 when I completed my studies at Orewa College. I gained my NZDA certificate, which I have utilised overseas whilst on my OE. I am experienced in most aspects of dental assisting and am enjoying being back working part time.
Lisa
I am new to the dental industry but have always had a passion for customer service and have previously had over 10 years pharmacy experience. Now enjoying the busy environment at Orewa Dental Centre and seeing how the aesthetics of dental treatment can change people’s smiles.
